Visit London

Visit London was my first multipage web design project, done during my time at the Uncommon.org Bootcamp. The goal was to reimagine the site with a fresh, modern look while improving usability for its primary audience: tourists.

I wanted to create more than just a visually appealing interface; it had to be an experience. From layout to interaction, every design choice was made with intentionality. I focused on storytelling, immersive imagery, micro-interactions, minimalism, and a clear sense of structure. This project pushed me to really flex my design brain and explore web design in a much deeper way.

challenge.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was decluttering the overall experience. The original site had an overwhelming amount of information, so simplifying the layout without losing key content required careful thought and intentional design decisions. Another limitation was the color palette; the original design only offered three colors to work with. This made it tough to create a cohesive visual ambience across all pages, especially when trying to evoke emotion and maintain brand consistency. Ensuring consistency itself was also a hurdle; aligning components, layouts, and text styles across multiple pages and elements proved trickier than I expected. On top of all that, I was working under a tight deadline, which added pressure and demanded fast, confident decision-making. Despite all this, each challenge became an opportunity for growth and ultimately shaped the strength of the final result.

result.

The final redesign delivered a more user-friendly and visually engaging experience tailored specifically for tourists. Navigation became clearer, content felt more approachable, and the overall interface was easier to explore. I used immersive hero sections with vivid imagery and blue accents to create a strong London identity while keeping the aesthetic clean and consistent. Subtle animations and micro-interactions added life to the pages without being distracting, reinforcing the idea that using the website should feel like part of the journey. Most importantly, this project helped me grow as a designer, it sharpened my ability to work under pressure, build multi-page consistency, and create meaningful experiences beyond just the visuals.
